BUILDING WITH SIGNALLING EFFECT

The commercial and event centre in Graz reaches its impact by form and colour. The building is affected by the street‘s course. The red part of the building is joint to the court‘s structure with bridges on every floor. The vertical exploitation of the building is granted through a central elevator and three staircases. Nine floors accommodate substantial functions, showing principles of Feng-Shui: the water basin and the cascade in the hall. Elements such as floating bridges and planted area-ways are an architectural specialty. In the three basement floors are the areas for parking, technics and storage.The ground floor is dominated by the central hall. Offices and a restaurant are placed in the red wing. Next to the courtyard is a big room for events as well as conference rooms. A connection between the different wings is created with fluent forms and the materiality. The envelope made in ALUCOBOND® in splendid red continues into the interior. The calming façades of the opposing wing are made in silvermetallic and blue grey metallic.
