The new branch of Raiffeisenbank in Cassaratte in the Swiss Ticino is elegant and sleek. The precise design and the broken-up cubature represent the modern image of the bank, which in its realignment increasingly relies on the local requirements of its customers. Thus, the new building blends harmoniously into the alpine environment, in particular through the selected tonality. The elegant appearance is created in particular by the selected fixing system of the rear-ventilated façade. ALUCOBOND® Prefab invisible is an innovative glued fixing system for façade elements prefabricated in the workshop. The elements can be optimized and automated during the fabrication process. The panels are cut to size and Specially developed carrier sections are structurally bonded to the rear of the panels. Immediately after bonding the adhesion values allow the elements to be transported. This eliminates the complicated and time-consuming process involved in the use of sealing adhesives with sanding, cleaning and priming on the construction site.
There are unique extruded locator clips riveted or screwed to the carrier sections. These elements can be easily hooked on horizontal carrier rails which have been fixed into place beforehand on site. Tests have been performed with ALUCOBOND® Prefab invisible and demonstrate that this system is comparable with a riveted system on vertical sections regarding the load performance. It is possible to achieve similar spans. By varying the width of the adhesive tape the wind load can be securely transmitted into the substructure. There are even more advantages than optimised fabrication and installation. The invisible fixation and the freely selectable panel grid allow freedom of design. The joint pattern of the Raiffeisen branch thus reinforces subtly the aligning of the building structure.
