Prestigious pair

This prestigious duo is situated on the outskirts of Nagold city centre. The developer, Borgmann Immobilien, has created 14 apartments with spacious floor plans and premium architectural finishes. The hillside location of the buildings mean they enjoy unobstructed views to the west. These vistas are ideally showcased thanks to the floor-to-ceiling glazing and large loggias. Both blocks stand on a shared, slightly recessed base, which is clad in anodized metal mesh. The buildings’ distinctive appearance is created by ALUCOBOND® bands which accentuate the horizontal axis and form clear, broad lines reminiscent of Japanese architectural traditions. The twin structures look as though they have been sketched with a wide-nib drawing pen. Set at their corners, loggias with barely visible, transparent balustrades also accentuate the structure’s horizontal orientation. Like rectangular recesses slotted into the façade, they subtly mitigate the impression of compactness. On the upper floor, accessible exterior space extends across the width of the entire building.
Gold tones are featured on the metal façade. Both the aluminium composite panels and the vertically aligned box profile sheet metal shimmer in an earthy gold, which complements the plants and vegetation on the green roofs. The recessed trapezoidal sheet metal features vertical rib profiles in differing widths which enhance the façade and add structure. All the façade elements were installed by Wittenauer GmbH from Sasbach.

And what lies concealed behind the façade? According to w : architekten, this is where the heart of the house can be found and designed with great attention to detail. It is a staircase which is far more than just a structural element linking different floor levels. The curved golden banisters leading down through all the floors in a wide spiral, are a design masterpiece. Combined with the dark marble treads, the staircase conveys classic, timeless elegance and creates a stylish highlight.
