The design
This spacious 280 m² penthouse is situated on the 20th floor, in the heart of Amsterdam. What is unique is its round layout. You enter the various rooms via the hallway, where only the primary bedroom’s bathroom and walk-in closet are located in separate, enclosed spaces. The wall finishes have been played with to add more tension to the spaces. These include alternating leather wall finishes, sheet metal and brass lines, and wallpaper with natural materials. The brass details serve as a connecting element throughout the residence. The ceiling-high doors, designed by Mariska herself, extend and emphasise the heights and form a beautiful union with the ceiling-high windows, which allow for plenty of light. In addition, natural stone has been used not only in the washrooms, but also the living room’s fireplace. The black ceilings in the hallway and primary bedroom provide for an intimate, luxurious atmosphere. The entire penthouse exudes a warm and rich feeling, right down to the linen bedding.

Colours and materials
Black and brass are the design’s unifying factors. Light grey and white marble have been added to create a clear contrast. The soft carpet and materials denote a sense of warmth and comfort.
