Bucolic area in Brabant
The exterior
This spacious, modern, newly built villa exudes luxury, class and warmth. The differentiation in the construction of the villa’s façade and the large roof overhangs—in combination with the rigid thatched roof—add tension to the overall design. For the exterior, Studio Mariska Jagt chose a striking contrast between white stucco, black wooden cladding and reed. Wooden slats have been placed in front of some windows, which increases the residents’ privacy. The alluring home has been enhanced with a spacious carport, a stylish balcony and an inviting veranda on the garden side. The high windows ensure that natural light beautifully warms the interior.
The interior
The plot is long and narrow, which led to the creation of a challenging floor plan. Of course, Studio Mariska Jagt designed, entirely according to the wishes of the clients, beautiful sightlines running from indoors to outdoors. Generous natural light brightens up the spacious entrance hall, which connects to all the living areas and the loft on the second floor. The two large pivot doors in the hallway grant access to the rest of the luxurious house.
Through the hallway, you step into the large, customised kitchen situated on the garden side. The specially designed double-sided fireplace elegantly divides the kitchen from the dining room, which has been furnished with a generous dining table. The other pivot door leads to the richly decorated living room at the front of the house. A custom-made object, in which a fireplace and a television have been integrated, is the big eye-catcher in this impressive space.
On the first floor, Studio Mariska Jagt designed, among other things, the clients’ impressive private domain. The sleeping area has soaring heights, owing to the removal of part of the attic floor above it. The spacious walk-in closet, comfortable and striking bathroom and roof terrace, which offers a view of the wooded garden, complete this exclusive dreamscape. Even from their bathtub, the residents enjoy a beautiful view of the natural surroundings.
On this floor, Studio Mariska Jagt created an additional bathroom for the children. Custom-made wardrobes and desks add extra allure to this floor. In the attic, we find a luxurious guest room, including bathroom.
The herringbone-patterned wooden floor and plastered walls lend a soft, light atmosphere and combine beautifully with the warm colours of the natural stone, black steel of the high pivot doors and dark window frames. The lofty ceilings and large expanses of glass supply distinctive light to this luxury home.
