De lijnbaan was de allereerste autovrije winkelstraat van Nederland. Na de 2e wereldoorlog kreeg architectenbureau Van den Broek en Bakema de opdracht de binnenstad van Rotterdam te ontwerpen. Bij de opening in 1953 werd de Lijnbaan beschouwd als het modernste winkelcentrum ter wereld, en kreeg hierdoor over de gehele wereld navolging. 

Nu de financiële crisis op zijn eind is, worden er weer volop winkelpanden gerenoveerd en getransformeerd.  Zo ook op de  ooit modernste winkelstraat van de wereld "De Lijnbaan"  in hartje Rotterdam. Binnenkort wordt "A merken sneaker outlet" geopend.  Om de klanten perfect te kunnen verbinden van buiten naar binnen in de winkel, heeft men gebruik gemaakt van zeer makkelijk te bedienen vouwwand van Aluprof de MB 86 Fold Line.
