Futuristic curvature

Glass, silver cladding and a multitude ofcurves determine the futuristic appearanceof the Magdeburg Förderanlagen und BaumaschinenGmbH (FAM) corporate headoffice, built at the company headquarters inMagdeburg, FAM’s corporate identity is reflectedon many levels. The company’s newhead office building in Magdeburg conveysthe firm’s own values, and the architects atpbr AG used the creative resources of theFAM product range as a basis and referencefor their design. The futuristic new buildingin the south of Magdeburg not only communicatesquality and the power of innovation,it also makes an architectural statement inthe field of industrial buildings. This modernstructure featuring a large number of curveswas conceived as an architectural counterpointto the historical company villa.Large-format, silver-grey ALUCOBOND^® panels determine the façade design and, inconjunction with the building contours, createa futuristic image. Deliberately employinglarge format panels in conjunction with acurved geometry has simply and deftly createdthe modern appearance of the structure.Ribbon windows structure and divide thenew five-storey mullion-transom façade construction.Further reference is made to thecorporate colour, which is featured in theblue window reveals and in the entrancearea.Attached to the foyer, a light-bathed atriumlinks all five storeys and creates a luminousambience at the centre of the new building.A lift, designed and built by FAM, is housedwithin a steel structure, also in the corporatecolour blue. The glass roof coveringthe whole building allows daylight to floodin from above and reach the ground floor,creating a bright atmosphere in the center ofthe new building.
