Stayokay is a Dutch market leader in hostels. Each hostel location has specific characteristic, such as the local area, fascinating history or distinctive architecture which is strongly translated in each location’s interior design concept, furniture choice and striking mix of individually designed spatial graphics, as well as, indoor and outdoor signage. DAY has worked on transforming many of Stayokay’s locations based on the overarching Stayokay DNA strategy project that Stayokay and DAY completed together.
For Stayokay the challenge was to attract more locals and passersby, as well as, increasing the dwell time of the guests. A cultural melting pot and “living space” where people can come together, have a drink, bite, do some work or just have fun.
.DAY was asked to design a logo and create a brand identity for “The 5th” that could exist next to the existing brand and match the values and vision of Stayokay.
Stayokay The 5th are now eye-catching and unique places to be with lively and sociable communal areas where hostel guests and passers-by feel much more welcomed and relaxed to hang out.
