Moxy is a fun, vibrant and stylish hotel designed to give guests everything they want and nothing they don't, at an affordable price. Apto Architect is involved with the development of the Moxy concept since the first project near Milan Malpensa in close collaborating with the operator and developer.

The most important space in Moxy London Heathrow Airport is the public area. We imagined this hotel lobby as the biggest living room possible. Innovative in this design is “The hub”, the central part of the lobby. It combines a traditional check-in with the bar and small kitchen, to help operate the hotel with a limited number of staff without sacrificing service. The result is that the first experience any guest has at the Moxy starts with a warm welcome and a great cocktail setting up the hotel stay for interaction and activity, a unique vibe that continues in the whole design.

The lobby is further divided into various zones with as much flexibility in mind. The open plan of the hotel give the operator the opportunity to turn the whole space into a breakfast room in the morning, a hang-out lounge and workspace during the day and a night-club with a great active bar at night.

The design tries to provide a low key environment and gives the opportunity for the guests to take centre stage at the Moxy. Our choice of materials and selection of furniture was key in this. A dark base create an industrial chic vibe, connected with an eclectic mix of furniture, provides a smart casual low-key environment for interaction, where everything in the hotel can be used and creates moments of interaction.

We believe that creating moments of fun are strong brand values. It is the baseline motivation for people to remember where they are and make them want to come back.
