Prachtig gekleurd stoer hout

Kempas wordt breed toegepast in de afwerking van gebouwen en ruimtes. De prachtige donkere kleur geeft het hout een stoer en stijlvol uiterlijk.

Het hout wordt onder andere toegepast in (parket-)vloeren, balken & palen, kades, afrasteringspalen, meubilair, pallets en spoorbielzen.

Kempas
A medium hardwood timber with a density of 770-1,120kgm³ air dry. The sapwood is white or pale yellow and is sharply defined from the heartwood which is pinkish when fresh and darkens to a bright orange-red or deep brown. Texture is rather coarse but even except in areas where included phloem occurs. The grain if often interlocked.

There are many reasons why timber is widely used as a flooring option. Wooden floors are easy to clean and get more beautiful as time passes. They also come in different shades as no two pieces of timber from the same tree would look the same, therefore providing good options to the buyers who prefer the variety.

Hardwood flooring is also easy to install and maintain. Its excellent thermal insulating property makes it an ideal material for flooring. Wood is hypo-allergenic which provides a healthier living environment.

There are basically two types of hardwood floors – solid and engineered. Solid hardwood can be sanded and refinished many times while engineered timber floors are known for their excellent stability.

Timbers from old properties be it homes, factories or even barns can be trimmed and sanded to give a renewed look. Some old planks may look worn down, with nail holes, knots, or stains but these are elements that give character to a home with hardwood flooring.

There are several species that make good fits as hardwood flooring. Timbers such as Chengal, Kempas, Merbau, Sepetir, Mempisang and Nyatoh are popular choices. Malaysian manufacturers also use temperate species such as Oak, Ash, and Walnut for making hardwood floors.
