Studio Nauta seeks talented junior architect

At Studio Nauta, attention to craft is central to our design process, from first sketch up to completion. From our studio at the Maashaven in Rotterdam, we work with a team of 8 on varied projects; from school to country house and from urban masterplan to high-rise.

We are looking for someone with whom we can take our relatively young office to the next level. You will either work independently and/or in a team on ambitious and feasible projects. You are proactive and are working closely with project leaders and other team members. Given that our projects are mainly located in Dutch-speaking context, good understanding of the Dutch language is preferred. We offer a temporary contract for 32 hours per week with the intention of extension at a competitive pay, pension scheme and conditions of employment in accordance with the collective labor agreement (CAO).

RESPONSIBILITIES

Works closely with project leaders and can lead interns in e.g. model or image making
Designs from an architectural perspective
Independently contributes to design solutions, studies and presentations
Development of the studio’s model making and photography standards
Development of drawing and BIM knowledge for the studio

QUALITIES

Completed HBO/WO study (except for experienced AvB students)
1 to 2 years of work experience
Strong design skills
Excellent presentation and graphic skills
Eager to learn, socially skilled, proactive and result oriented
Good command of Rhino and graphic skills (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), knowledge of ArchiCAD is plus
Experience with models – used as part of the design process
Experience with rendering software (V-Ray / Enscape)
Photography knowledge is a plus
