We are seeking an Architect who combines technical expertise with a passion for architectural design. Based at the climate-resilient Floating Office Rotterdam – the world’s largest floating office building, offering breathtaking views of the Rotterdam Harbor – you’ll have the chance to make an impact by contributing to both national and international projects.

The ideal candidate possesses an exceptional eye for interior and architectural design and is eager to contribute conceptual ideas while staying curious about the journey from design to construction. Examples of our projects and their scale are the Central Library Rotterdam, RISE – the tallest building in the Netherlands and Marga Klompé (Tilburg University) – the first European college building to be completely constructed from solid wood.

This is a full-time position based in our Rotterdam office.

Role

As an Architect at Powerhouse Company, you contribute to projects from concept design through to the execution phase. Working collaboratively with a team, you deliver high-quality interior and architectural solutions, showcasing exceptional design skills.Responsibilities

Develop and present design concepts through iterative models, diagrams, architectural drawings and renderings;
Coordinate internal and external stakeholders throughout the design and development phases;
Research and develop innovative environments including concepts, design development and detail design;
Prepare comprehensive technical drawing packages and associated documents under the guidance of senior designers;
Assist senior designers with reviewing and approving design drawings and construction documents;
Attend design team meetings and reviews, on and off site as needed;
Liaise with outside suppliers, contractors, craftsmen and specialists (primarily in Dutch).

Requirements

Hold a professional degree in architecture;
Postgraduate experience as a designer or architect, preferably with an internationally recognized firm;
Proficiency in Adobe Suite, SketchUp/Rhino and BIM, proficiency in ArchiCad is a plus;
Knowledge of Dutch building regulations is advantageous;
Proactive, flexible, and capable of managing multiple tasks in an international work environment;
Hands-on, well-organized and able to handle internal and external communications in a highly professional manner;
Advanced working proficiency in English and Dutch is required;
Working eligibility in the Netherlands is preferred.
