Black elegance

The IMF Tertia GmbH complex comprises five cohesive/connected structures organised in line with production workflows. A three-storey office and laboratory building, which also houses the administration, social rooms, training rooms and research departments, towers above the site.
The office and laboratory building is constructed in reinforced concrete with lightweight partition walls. Large-format black ALUCOBOND^® panels on its outer facade create a supremely elegant exterior appearance. As a contrast, the facades on the production buildings are different; they are clad in ALUCOBOND^® silvermetallic.
Lightweight partition walls divide the column- free production hall into four production line sectors with clean room working cells. The result is very flexible space, that can be easily adapted to suit future changes in production.
The supports in the hangar-like buildings – production, packing and high rack warehouse – are constructed in prefabricated reinforced concrete elements and the roof bearing structures, depending on construction and function, in steel lattice formwork (production, assembly) or glued laminated timbers (high rack warehouse). All surface water is collected and channelled back underground via a cleansing biotope.
