Iridescent twisted kaleidoscope

Light House is located in Melbourne’s vibrantCBD. Within walking distance of both RMITand Melbourne University, the location affordsresidents access to all that Melbournehas to offer.

The high-rise building with 69 levels featuresan undulating exterior façade utilizinga custom ALUCOBOND^® PLUS spectra Violet. The iridescent façade changes coloursin various shades of purple to create a trulyunique high-rise. The architects at ElenbergFraser describe their design as: “… a twistinghelix that seems to defy the laws of physics. Appearing to turn on its trajectory, thebuilding has no corners.

”The architects continue by saying: “This 3Dkaleidoscope not only twists and undulateson its axis but its façade is a moving object. The effect of constant motion is amplified bythe iridescent contrasts of the goniochromismALUCOBOND^® panels (which changecolour depending on your perspective).

”When viewing the high-rise from various angles, above, below, from the North, from theSouth, the building looks as if shades of purplewere chosen when in fact it utilizes a singlepanel finish. It is not just a high-rise, butan exceptional landmark.

The result is as Elenberg Fraser quotes “athree-dimensional kaleidoscope. We oftensee innovative designs utilized in the mixeduseresidential marketplace but these buildingis not only aesthetically pleasing, thebest designs utilize a mixture of form and function.

”The Light House apartments were createdwith their residents in mind to optimize naturaldaylight, privacy and cityscape views. Interestingly, the interior of the high-rise featuresa series of contrasting neutral toneswith naturally influenced materials. The architectsdescribe: “Here apartments are asunique as their owners, as every room accentuatesa different view out over the Melbournelandscape.”
