LEAF Awards 2007

The LEAF Awards are open to all companies, technologies and individuals that have made an outstanding contribution to the world of architecture, and who continue to set the benchmark for the buildings of tomorrow. This year’s awards will be presented at a spectacular gala dinner on the 29 November 2007 at the Royal Horticultural Halls and Conference Centre in Central London.

This year's LEAF Awards categories are:

THE LEAF OVERALL WINNER All entries will be put forward to enter the overall winner category.

BEST ENVIRONMENTALLY SUSTAINABLE PROJECT OF THE YEAR This award focuses on innovation in relation to the durability and efficient use of both materials and energy consumption in providing a sustainable built environment.

BEST MATERIAL SUPPLIER TO THE ARCHITECTURAL INDUSTRY AWARD This award focuses on innovation, reliability and best practice. Suppliers wishing to enter this category should submit a project that best showcases the innovative use of their particular solution.

THE LEAF PUBLIC BUILDING AWARD (IN DESIGN)
This award recognises projects that are specifically used for community and/or general public use. The in design award is for projects that have yet to be completed.

THE LEAF PUBLIC BUILDING AWARD (BUILT)
The LEAF Public Building Award recognises projects that are specifically used for community and/or general public use. The built award is for projects that have been completed since January 2006 or are due for completion by June 2007.

THE LEAF STRUCTURAL DESIGN AWARD This award recognises architects that have implemented innovative structural design solutions.

BEST USE OF TECHNOLOGY AWARD This award focuses on how technology has been used in both an innovative and also a practical manner.

THE LEAF INTERNATIONAL INTERIOR DESIGN AWARD The International interior design award focuses on the best interior design for either a new build project or an interior renovation project.

THE LEAF NEW BUILD AWARD (IN DESIGN)
This award also specifically focuses on new build projects. The in design award is for new buildings that have yet to be completed.

THE LEAF NEW BUILD AWARD (BUILT)
The LEAF New Build Award specifically focuses on new build projects. The built award is for any new buildings that have been completed since January 2006 or are due for completion by June 2007.

THE LEAF INTERNATIONAL BUILDING OF THE YEAR Each of our international publishing partners will nominate one building to be put forward for the International Building of the Year Award.

THE LEAF YOUNG ARCHITECT OF THE YEAR This new award celebrates up and coming architects. To qualify, architects must have no more than three years post qualification experience.

Entry is open to all architects practicing internationally and buildings can be anywhere in the world.

Winners will be judged by a panel of experts chaired by Peter Murray of New London Architecture. They will be announced at a spectacular Awards dinner at the Royal Horticultural Halls in London on 29 November 2007.

Rita Hatton, LEAF Project Director commented: “The LEAF Awards honour the architects designing buildings and solutions that are setting the benchmark for the international architectural community.

“This year, the LEAF Awards will recognise the strategic importance, impact and above all, the innovation and practical developments that both challenge and change the way we consider and evaluate the buildings of tomorrow.

“This is the first time they have been held in London and we are confident that they will be even more successful than previous years.”
