The Prize

The Prize "Sustainable Architecture" Fassa Bortolo is more than a simple competition. It is a way of spreading a new culture in the building sector with the twofold aim of creating a new and exclusive meeting point for professionals of the sector as well as making the work of planners and builders well-known, a work resulting from their continuous search for the best balance between the human being and the environment.

This initiative, which has been promoted by Fassa Bortolo - a leading company in the production of premixed plasters - and the Architecture Faculty of the University of Ferrara, aims at stimulating innovative solutions in the sector of bio-architecture. The prize will be awarded each year and is devoted to professionals and groups of architects and engineers who have implemented projects of sustainable architecture in Italy or in Europe in the past five years. Furthermore the edition 2007 of the Prize also includes a section devoted to neo-graduates , who can participate with their Degree Thesis.

The Prize
The prize will be awarded each year and is subdivided into two sections:

* works realized by professionals

* projects drawn up for the Degree Thesis

A prize will be awarded for each section to the first classified, whereas two Special Mentions will be given to the works and projects that the Jury considers worthy of being awarded for particular aspects.

Notification of the results
By May 2007 all the participants will be informed of the results of the selection designating the winner and awarding the special acknowledgments. The awarding report and the reasons for the awarded Prize and Acknowledgements will be also disclosed through the Prize official web site (www.premioarchitettura.it), the web site devoted to the tenth anniversary of the Architecture Faculty of Ferrara (www.Xfaf.it), the web site of the company Fassa Bortolo (www.fassabortolo.com), as well as the specialized press.
