In an hour, about 90,000 people lost home when the largest Tsunami we have seen had hit the 550 km Japanese coast line. Another 90.000 people lost home when Fukushima-Daiichi Nuclear power station was damaged. For harsh winter months they were allocated in sport halls of nearby schools. This project mean to supply plans for free to build communal living spaces where conversation can take place in human manner. A circular patio typology creates various places for activities. Square windows of different size are perforated on walls in different heights in order for users to control their empirical relation with the presence of the desert of rubble surrounding this premise. Patio is meant to be a serene clean space where users may find peace and joy. The torus space that surrounds this patio is the space to sit and talk in various sizes of groups, from single person to 15 person. Roof lights are perforated with the aim to frame sky.

The space is for temporary use.

It applies high thermal performance sandwich panels for principle construction.

The building stands on a circular concrete disk composed in double skin layers made out of high performance reinforced concrete on foam concrete core in order to achieve firm foundation on no pile and formidable thermal isolation.

Light weight steel roof is covered by EPDM foil for water proofing. Montage detail of steel window frame realizes natural ventilation.

Soil directly under the foundation disks is given a thermal container function. Ceiling mounted heat emission system in combination with isolated floor realizes basic habitable climate.

The patio can used as small theater for music or play. Numbers of visual transitions might stands for a notion of future. The framing of view towards spoiled cityscapes is arranged between the users in chatting so that it might suggest positive perspectives for reconstruction of this devastating experiences.
